HearSpell is a free spelling practice app for kids aged 4–12 with no ads, no tracking, and no data collection. It supports both American English (Kindergarten–Grade 6) and British English (Reception–Year 6). Kids use it independently — no parent setup required.
How It Works
HearSpell is audio-first: your child hears a word read aloud in a sentence, then types the spelling using a custom on-screen keyboard that prevents autocomplete. No flashcards, no multiple choice — just listening and spelling. Spaced repetition tracks mastery and brings back tricky words automatically. Kids pick a grade and go — no parent configuration needed.
